ECNL makes a big difference GFA Mom.

Highly doubtful. Other clubs have had players sign with UNC and much better schools and are NOT PDA or MFA.

Anonymous said...

Just some food for thought.
As an ECNL parent it was refreshing to see all of the college coaches that were present to watch the NON-ECNL matches that took place at the latest PDA showcase in May.
Don't be so naive. Your club may love your kid one day and the next day they love the kid from the other team. There are options out there for everyone and GFA has nothing to worry about. There is alot to be said for being the best non-ecnl team around, which they are. They will get a lot of exposure. (See YMS Explosion rising U17).

Anonymous said...

You people are nuts....gfa will not get any attention from D1 coaches and thats the true facts...ecnl will get the most looks, but alumni and money will get her where she wants to go...thats our plan..and we have choices..

Anonymous said...

Are D1 coaches really so foolish and lazy that they believe the best players all play in the ECNL?

Anonymous said...

D1 coaches have limited time and resources. ECNL collectively has the best players. They can scout more players at an event, GFA Mom. You care more about winning meaningless National titles, beating poor competition that no scouts are coming to see. It is not all about winning paper championships, it's about playing against the best.

Anonymous said...

Yes and all the ECNL girls ALL of them get Div 1 colleges. They are the best players and the best teams!! Everybody please line up outside pda and match fit waiting for a chance for your daughter. Lol this blog is such a joke , no wonder clubs make so much money out of parents. Lol

Anonymous said...

7:59am is on the money. Been doing this a long enough time to tell you, PDA / ECNL is a drop in the bucket. Yes, they are relevant, but not enough kids to fill rosters of colleges all over the country.

So many town club girls go on to play in college. PDA not necessary. Also, since most here are probably teens or ignorant parents, when you finally come to your senses and realize that scholarships are almost mythical. D1 women's roster sizes average 28 players, but only 14 scholarships. At BEST you are probably getting a partial, which could be taken away if injured or the coach decides to pull it. IT'S A MYTH.

Play for a town team - save some money for tuition. Tell your kid to excel academically, play soccer for fun. NJ is home to 3 outstanding D3 schools (TCNJ, Montclair, Rowan) that WILL give academic scholarships if 1) grades are strong and 2) YOU PLAY A SPORT!

Think - use your logical side of your brain and stop being an emotional fool. The chances of Anson Dorrance calling are slim to none.

Anonymous said...

And do you know what it means to play D1? All your daughter free time is taken away for the sport. They are 14 years old now filling Up rosters and paying lots of money to be number 27 on the bench of an ECNL team so you parents can come here and show off or put a sticker on your car. You do not even know if your daughter will be willing to sacrifice everything for the sport. And even then you will pay the tuition anyway. Play wherever you want , pda GFA match fit or town team. At the end it will be all the same for everybody: a phone call and a tryout

Anonymous said...

CLUELESS. ...that sums it up...good luck in ft dix this weekend....lol

Anonymous said...

Copa had a girl commit this past December to a D1 school as a Sophomore. U16 player.

How does that work? Clearly not just ECNL players then is it?

Anonymous said...

11:06 yes you are clueless , you are right. And you do not know why teams play different levels events, so since you do not know is better to mind your own business.

Anonymous said...

D1 schools cannot communicate with players (boys or girls) until Jan 1 of their Junior year. Verbal commit is very different. Early commits are usually through camps or club connections.
and I am guessing July 23 9:34 am was a a typo.
D1 soccer does not take time away all your time from the sport, the sport takes all your free time.

Anonymous said...

Who doesn't have limited time and resources? IF a college coach wants to fill the roster with only ECNL players, go for it. If a college coach wants to win games they better get the best players they can. Might have to stretch those limited time and resources a little and it might be well worth it. Nothing comes easy.

Anonymous said...

Wow...do you really think that your little Mia is so special that she is going to make or break a D1 roster as a freshman? That the coach is going to be so taken by her talent that he/she will make a special trip to one of your games or to your tournament? There is a reason why most of the "college coaches attendings" for your tournaments are D2 or D3.
Fact is even if she is great in her league, there is someone just as good in ECNL that has played against top teams week in and week out so they are much less of a question mark that she can hang with the big teams (especially if she is to get offered money).
Coaches want someone with has much experience and the least question marks as possible. Thats why the pecking order is usually National players(how ever ID'ed), ECNL players, Club players, HS players...are there exceptions of course, but that is the norm.
Nothing comes easy you're right there, so going to an ECNL showcase where there are 320 top girls (including National players) from around the country and you have three open spot for next year, its hard to pick.

Anonymous said...

And when you have a team like PDA splash that performs poorly it doesn't help either. And match fit is not much better. So where is this great talent? Didn't see much talent at splash recently. You might look into older age but it doesn't matter to me as my daughter and your daughters are u15 in one month

Anonymous said...

I have zero interest in encouraging my kid to devote precious time and energy in college to soccer. But the big business of high level youth soccer obviously excludes many capable and talented players.

Anonymous said...

SPECIALIZATION is excluding players

"Must choose" mantra takes players away from elite sports as they play the other.

Anonymous said...

Click on IGFA on GotSoccer... Looks like they are merging with Princeton Soccer Club!!

Princeton girls just got into NPL... maybe this is a way in for GFA? What happened to the merger with TSF?

Anonymous said...

IGFA took TSF best players and said no thanks to the rest. That's what happened to the TSF merger. Why do you think they had such a good season. IGFA was terrible before stealing their players.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

IGFA took 1 girl from TSF.

Anonymous said...

GFA did get the 3 best players TSF had to offer but any team would do the same if they could. They where a good team before and they are a great team now congratulations to the national champ !!!

Anonymous said...

Not any team would reneg on a merger after taking only the good players. GFA will though. Yes we all agree, congrats to the National Champ - Slammers of California!!

Anonymous said...

So GFA will now pay more for less training at Princeton. Team moving training and games to Princeton fields. How well will the location change go over

Anonymous said...

9:37 you write stuff without knowing facts so why you do that and why should be your problem or your business .

Anonymous said...

Why if a player goes to GFA is a big deal ? Every team has player coming and go what is the issue. So many jealous people , so many haters and honestly do not understand why. Is good to have good teams in the state that do well. I do not see the problem. Good job and keep up the good work.

Anonymous said...

4:28 tell the slammers to come to Jersey. GFA never said no to a game

Anonymous said...

Amazing how you never heard a peep out of GFA on this blog 2 years ago when they were in the 4th flight of every tournament!

Anonymous said...

Amazing is that they still do not say anything and lots of trolls enjoy provoking on here to get negative reactions against them. Just leave them alone and focus on the real top teams . Let's talk ECNL teams , that is where real soccer is . Leave those small teams alone. .

Anonymous said...

ECNL has created exclusivity based on the parents wallets not the players talent.

US Club soccer has done a marvelous job of soaking up the dollars.

Youth soccer in the US is big business. This is why you see exorbitant prices and the exclusion of lower income talented athletes. Germany and other countries have a free system for youth soccer so all interested athletes are included.

Anonymous said...

ECNL is the best of the best. Everybody will end up tk pda or match fit . Two best teams in the region with the best players. Everything else is nothing important. This blog should talk about them and the future of too ECNL players . Other stuff is not important.

Anonymous said...

Most of the bashing comes from the parents that left Gfa or have lost to. Which is understandable. Those parents that left will soon find out that the grass is not greener on the other side. The only thing that is greener are the wallets. Exclusivity is right. It is a big business which why many people despise the ECNL koolaid. It's not about the talent it's about what one can afford. Small market teams of US CLUB offer more opportunity. When a small club is able to keep enough talent to win, they are bashed by the koolaid drinkers of the ECNL SPECTRUM. Currently u14 teams in our ecnl region are no better but equally as good. Too bad the arrogant asses that bash u14 girls keep hiding behind there daughters skirt. I'm sure in time GfA will dissolve and the better players will have moved on or just stopped playing which is fine. they have had an awesome run over the last two years. And when the blog bashed them because they had not won anything they were nothing and now that they put streak together they still are bashed. Worry about your daughter or better yet bash her team. Your personal gripes should not become the rhetoric of the blog what happen between you and former coaches should not be the fuel of your hatred. Instead of spending time bashing teams worry about your girl who is falling behind.

Anonymous said...

GFA gets bashed after due to their arrogance. They have had a good run in the last year, but when they start screaming National Champs and #1 in the U.S. they are going to get bashed. They've beaten some good teams but haven't played the best in the country because they don't get the opportunity. If GFA parents want to be known as humble, just stay off the blog.

Anonymous said...

As was said before there are many National Championship tournaments. All of which soak up parents dollars. ECNL are no more or less National Champs than any other League. The fact that ECNL teams most often refuse to play and when they do fair very evenly proves there is parity at the top of these leagues. You must beat everyone in and outside your league to be a true "National" champ. Everyone including ECNL are only National league champs.

Anonymous said...

2:52

GFA played NYSC for a National championship. Thats says it all. two good teams but not great teams that play in the same region.

Anonymous said...

Keep trying to convince yourselves that the money you pay for ECNL means you are the best. I guess we'll never know because you are too good to come out and play anyone who is not in your exclusive league. JOKE!

Anonymous said...

5:59 you have no clue about elite soccer.

Anonymous said...

PDA and MF do not play elite soccer they belong to a label and can't fulfill the expectations maybe they should make Gfa an offer they will represent the u14 with much more gusto than what they have now

Anonymous said...

The funny thing is that Splash is a mess. New coach, players have been dropped and they finished middle of the pack in their ecnl division. And GFA thinks that just because they beat a PDA team and won some fugally National title, against another mediocre team, They now think they are the best team around.

If it wasn't so sad I would be laughing my arse off !

what will you say when you lose a game to a mediocre team next fall?

Anonymous said...

GFA dropped the ball - if this team is so good, instead of playing all your tournaments you should have played in RCL or played for the NJ NCS at least this way you could have qualified for the National League what many say is equal to the ECNL. New Jersey Stallions Academy-Freedom tried but came up short. HBC made it.

Nothing wrong with this. UEFA had a cup winners cup back in the days to go along with their UEFA Cup and Champions Cup all 3 were European Champions. Nothing wrong with that - but Money drove the show and the Champions league was born,no more did a country send only 1 team their true champion - no some countries send 5 and can win the champions league without even winning their own countries league, does that make them less a champion? Hell no.

So congrats GFA on your "National Cup" title. You played and you WON and can claim to be a national Champion because you are!!!! You even beat the PDA Splash the ECNL team that wanted to win this title, so who cares what I think or anyone else thinks on this board. This board is used to recruit why else would any one poo poo a young girls accomplishment. No one is going to talk about GFA losing to Red Bulls in this weekend's tournament? First game back from National Championships and they can't even hold the title. Who is this Red Bulls team anyway? I thought there was no girls' academy team.

IGFA is 1-4 vs. Brick Fury. They are not that good.

Opens spots

Anonymous said...

USA Champions League is based on EDP league position from the previous year. Certain teams are invited, it's invitation only. Nothing special just something to run alongside the MSSL tourneys... Although the Champs League is free as EDP cover the costs.

Anonymous said...

Eddie, Century Gold PAW, and HBC have lost to GFA a total of about 5 times and the Brick games are old news. So, give us something new if not worry about something that matters, you left so keep it moving.

Anonymous said...

Brick are now the Wildcats through some shady moves and GFA is now Princeton.

Anonymous said...

Lol you are really well informed... Not

Anonymous said...

The wildcat fury bar now an official team on got soccer and if you click on IGFA team you will see their team account has them connected to Pronceton SA. The team name will change for GFA at u15.

Anonymous said...

Again you know nothing

Anonymous said...

Every GFA team U14 and below has Princeton in their GotSoccer page. Why don't you inform us then if we know nothing?

Anonymous said...

Why should inform you? Who are you? And why you care? If is you team you know what is going on and if is not your team mind your business as it is not a matter that concern you or your daughter.

Anonymous said...

Who cares!? This is getting to be similar to the NjCSA crap. Oh by the way that team gave up 11 goals in two games over the weekend

Yikes. Goodove for those that comitted to play for that team

Anonymous said...

At least they were there

Anonymous said...

That may be but even with that they made it to semi finals. Your team coach?? Oh right, you stayed home and didn't enter and stalked the results instead! Your level of pathetic is at an all time high!! LOL

Anonymous said...

So GFA U15 is taking the Princeton slot in NYCSL NPL?

Cool.

Anonymous said...

You lost to a summer select team with u13 players...lol....

Anonymous said...

There were no semi final games at showcase. There were 3rd place games and the final. If you finished 2nd in your group you got an extra game. Wow you people don't even understand how the tournaments your children are playing in are run. A semi final is a game that is played to see who will play in the final. Again, this did not exist this weekend at the MSSL Showcase. And BTW any team can play in that tournament, you just have to pay the fee.

Who really cares about any of you? this blog could be a good resource to share information. But more often than not it is about bashing others. Sad but true. And parents who leave teams trying to justify their decisions (yes their decision, my guess is that more often than not it is the parent and not the player).

Most of your children will not be playing this game at any level in a few years, and many of you are in for a rude awakening when you learn that your little Mia is not as good as you think she is, at least through your eyes. They will change a lot over the next couple of years, so good luck to all. To all of you parents that are over the top and you know who you are, I'm sure that your daughter appreciates how you became too involved in her soccer adventures. I'm sure many of you never played any sport at a competitive level, ever! And the fact is that you will never know how you screwed up her game. Your are the ones that are feeble minded.

Anonymous said...

Had the chance to see the Red Bull Summer Team play this weekend at MSSL. That is a very good team, the Red Bull organization does a very good job. Based upon what I observed they should start up a girls academy, they would be on level par with PDA right from the start. They played a simple possession type style with good player movement stressing good decision making. Good Luck to those players enjoyed watching you play over the weekend.

Anonymous said...

The funny thing is the Red Bull Team was half of the World Class ECNL team. They were asked to play for them this weekend. So half the team never even trained with the Red Bull academy.

Anonymous said...

And who cares? At the end everybody comes to pda even if you keep bashing them. Just the best of the best. And in lower lever , Nj elite plays a better soccer than most in the state, but nobody talks about them, why? They have one of best players around

Anonymous said...

point taken, even more impressive that Red Bull could draw those players to play during a summer weekend on short notice!

Anonymous said...

Hmmmm looks like daddy coach is starting to lose it. Call it third place game or whatever you want but got soccer lists it as semi final points. Tomato/Tomaato.

Anonymous said...

I was talking to some of the Red Bulls' parents and can tell you that they only had two guest players this weekend, and it was the first time they had guest players. The World Class girls have been playing for the Red Bulls team all summer.

Anonymous said...

That is quite interesting, gfa merging with Princeton, very, very interesting, I think I look at this blog and post 99% for those reasons. How else would you know that, the information you get on these blogs is great, you have to sort through some of the rhetoric at times, however love it. And the Red Bulls summer select beating GFA 2-1 is not a big deal, summer select is guest players, hot, bad refs, you cannot win forever, you should lose once in a while, and GFA lost. I like the new NJ Elite for sure, and like Jackson, Point Pleasant playing also in 2nd brackets. Very few town teams left at this age, wish Middletown would play in 2nd bracket.

Anonymous said...

I think with maybe half of their starters, GFA actually did great this weekend...Many girls played for the first time with this group. And they played against a roster full of of PDA,World Class players (even a great former GFA player played for RB). And it was their first game.

If you think GFA was playing with their full strength, you must be completely out of touch!

Anonymous said...

slick you are completely out of touch....You are the main reason for the gfa bashing...just get a job and stay off this blog...

Anonymous said...

Waaaa, GFA lost, Excuses!!

Anonymous said...

NEW YORK RED BULLS team was just an average team.
Commack had maybe 1/2 of their players.GFA the same.

Typical for a summer event.

Anonymous said...

PDA Splash is a team totally in flux, players coming and going and a new coach but you beat them and its fine you beat PDA...GFA gets beat and "Oh we had half our starters" Waaaaaa...
So if RBNY was made of WC and PDA ECNL girls and they never played together and they beat the almighty GFA, that must say something about the ECNL talent level, no?

Anonymous said...

5:04 I do not know what you are saying. If it makes everybody happy that GFA lost one game so be it. You were not there you didn't see the game like most of the people here, you do not know who was playing and you just go with your theories . Is not important, think what you want.

Anonymous said...

If RBNY was really full of ECNL players, then not so much to show for. Many teams/girls much better than what we saw!

Anonymous said...

So now you are going to play in the weakest npl league around.
way to step it up.

Anonymous said...

GFA to Princeton explains why I saw them in different uniforms this past weekend.

Anonymous said...

NeXT time when u see them in different uniform come over and ask why so you can have a straight answer and you stop assuming things that do not make any sense. During small summer tournaments , lots of teams use different jersey ( guest players , new players etc) and not the official. Happens all the time

Anonymous said...

More excuses!! GFA brags how wonderful they are when they win and makes excuses when they lose!! Your parents deserve each other.

Anonymous said...

10:06 lol you are funny. Nobody cares. Yes they lost one game Saturday lol. It is fine. Good job red bulls you are a fantastic team and Gfa is not good . Happy? Lol go to sleep

Anonymous said...

Nj elite could have be champion with a little luck. Why we do not talk about other teams that are as good as pda or match fit or Gfa ? Nj elite is a very talented team and will dominate the scene in near future.

Anonymous said...

Maybe if the haters and idiotic trolls stop we can talk about something else in this blog.

Anonymous said...

What is happening at splash ? Some other players want to leave . Is it true?

Anonymous said...

Poor coaching selection at the splash has people second guessing their decision.

Anonymous said...

GFA is a very good team of committed players that train very hard and have risen to be one of the top teams in the state/region/country. They are as good or better than PDA Splash. the question is will they hold up over time, PDA has a history of getting stronger from year to year. NJ Elite is getting better, they are a good team with a good coach/trainer, from what is out there they picked up a few good players. Brick/NJ Wildcats has a huge roster and will be tough to manage expectations - some players will play up on the older team which is in need of some talent, as they get beat by town teams on a regular basis. PDA's 2nd and 3rd teams are average at best but will improve because that is just the way it works at PDA. Match Fit had some turnover but will continue to attract players due to ECNL affiliation, but you have to be committed to play there or you are out. What is the story at TSF? How will PDA Shore be this season? Do they enough players? Will NJCSA be able to field a team or will they fill out the roster with U14 players? How about NJ Rush, Jackson, Wall, Pt Pleasant, Bridgewater, STA, Middletown, Old Bridge, Freehold, etc...........A lot of teams with a lot of good players........Hope they all do well next season.

Anonymous said...

I can't understand all the NJ Elite talk...

Who have they beat - Nobody
What have they won - Nothing
What brackets have they been in - 2nd or below

Can't even win a second bracket so why all the hype? Coach is average at best. If he was that good he would have made them better the past 2-3 years he has had them. They picked up a few players and that's why they look better now... But still nowhere near what some people on here are saying.

Anonymous said...

Pda has given up on splash, coach left that team a mess, the real RU coaches went to the u13 team

Anonymous said...

I seriously dont know why PDA is always mentioned as some kind of gold standard just because they are ECNL in this obviously NJ centric blog. As someone has mentioned, yes teams tend to be better the older they get at those clubs, but we are talking about now. To the west are two much better clubs in Penn Fushion and FC Bucks and to the North is World Class that won the ECNL conference.
Like it or not the whole state has consumed some of that light blue kool aid.

Yes. FC Bucks World Class and Penn are all good clubs as well and have and will continue to have very good teams. Just adds to the argument that there is a lot of local talent! That was the point.

Anonymous said...

To 1:36 - BB owns B'Elite Training Company - look them up - looks like he took over coaching that team; brother was head coach of Chaos for a while - don't know what happened there ????????? Integrity is based on can you "walk the talk" - question any parent should ask of any coach - show me how you walk the talk.

Anonymous said...

What about FC Copa?

Anonymous said...

Is there a question you want to add after "What about FC Copa"?

Anonymous said...

10:59 nicely written. Every team and club has their Pros and Cons. Will be fun to watch how they all do. Extremely important year ahead for these young athletes. There are good programs available outside of ECNL. Big deal. ECNL does not matter. Take GFA for example or WC's- as this critical age of soccer is upon us it's the girls that are finding where they belong, have comradeare and that team becomes dominate or not. Consistency is important now. I personally would not want to be in the position of looking for a team for my daughter or being so disgruntled with my current team. You are going to see consistency in the teams that Want it now and have the proper coaching. There is aloe of talent at this level on all the teams.

What are you guys talking about? Who committed to whom, which team, etc.?
Why a single person should make any difference when it comes to PDA or other bigger clubs...

Anonymous said...

Yes about B'elite, they just won regionals and went to nationals, playing the best of the best. They also seem to play in many tournaments, they scrimmage as well and train with Rutgers on their fields in Newark, that is all the positive stuff I see as being close to the situation. They train often, run camps, have nice facilities and I would assume coach is good because he once was with PDA and he is also a college coach for like 20 years. May be some bitterness towards them as par, however I think it is a decent program if looking for out of town team.

Anonymous said...

B'elite and Nj elite are the two best teams in the next season hands down. All the other teams will not be able to compete . Programs are growing stronger and stronger. Pda , match fit , COPA , GFA and all the others will not be able to keep up with these two growing programs.
Especially NJ elite .

Anonymous said...

Funny :)

Looks like gfa lost players to nj elite and b'elite, there parents like to bad mouth there new teams.real class.

July 28 @ 4:50. Step one because you posted it? Complain away. Got soccer cleared Brick Fury to change names to Wildcat Fury keeping the account and points associated with. You are obviously not part of the team or you wouldn't be baby crying. Get a life. Did you call the police on parties you weren't invited to as a kid?

Anonymous said...

There are always two versions of a story and he one used to merge the team's was not all true.

4 players is a team? So all the other teams where some players from brick went should have a share of those points ? Lol please you are a cheat coach and that's it

Things I've learned from this blog during the 4-5 months since I became aware of its existence.
(1) ECNL (PDA& Matchfit)is better than all other programs because:
(a) it reinforces parents' belief that their daughter is more elite and skilled than others
(b)it draws more college coaches to their events (some truth)so you are guaranteed that your daughter will get a D-1 scholarship (even though there is no guarantee that your daughter will get much or any playing time and actually been seen by those coaches due to the inflated rosters)
(c) it just has to be better coaching because they charge so much money!!!
(2) _______ (insert team name here) is going to be better than all other teams next year, just you wait! Yes, I mean you NJCSA, B'Elite and NJ Elite. But you are not alone.
(3) Any town team or lesser skilled team that gains some success can't thump their chest or brag a little.
(4) Any town team or lesser skilled team that gains some success seems to go overboard and is naturally better than any of the top 5 teams in the state.
(5) If I'm a coach of a team, I can pretend to be a parent and talk down other teams just on the off chance that I can dupe some parent to bring their daughter to my team.
(6) Hey, who cares if we cheat the system? Everybody does it and you're just jealous that you couldn't trade off the accomplishments of others and get a slight advantage in maybe getting a team into a tournament or bracket that it otherwise wouldn't qualify for. Plus, hey those points will be lost in a few months anyway.
(7) I've spent too much time on this blog, thinking that I might glean some valuable information. Wait, I did. This blog is a waste of my time.

You have nothing but time to write all of that.
